Children experience significant developmental growth between the ages of three and five. Part of the three-volume series Preschoolers, this title focuses on a preschool child's interaction with others and his or her environment. Aimed at educating caregivers, the program interviews a wide variety of professionals, including early education teachers, a preschool director, and special-education instructors. Viewers will learn about the stages of social participation, and the effects of culture and gender, as well as helpful activities and strategies for encouraging healthy growth (the program addresses both pro-social and antisocial behaviors, while also offering relevant tips for caregivers). Special needs children often follow a different timeline in social development, and the video touches on ways to help these children participate with their peers. Other titles in this series include Preschoolers: Cognitive Development, and Preschoolers: Physical Development. A good practical primer on preschool behavior, this is recommended. Aud: K, C, P. (E. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
