Teaching viewers how to use “common image software and image devices to digitally preserve and enhance family information and photos,” Preserving Your Family History with Multimedia demonstrates how to transfer slides, film (8mm, Super 8, etc.) microfiche, and audio to home computers, using Adobe Photoshop Elements, scanners, and .wav files. While both practical and valuable, the program would have benefited from some major editing (about an hour's worth), as presenter Stephen Lemmon and his advisors talk far too long before actually teaching viewers anything. Considering the huge interest in genealogy, however, this is a strong optional purchase. Aud: H, C, P. (S. Fisher)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
