Preventative Auto Maintenance: The Basics

In this guide to checking fluids, changing a tire, and jumpstarting one's car with battery cables, host Jodie Harper teaches viewers to "take a proactive role" in vehicle maintenance. The opening segment, on checking fluids, gives very brief instruction on measuring oil, coolant, power steering, windshield wiper, and transmission fluid levels. Close-ups are arbitrarily placed and the important question of how often these checks should be performed is not raised. The tire changing and battery jumping segments are likewise skimpy.
