Accompanied by a lovely dulcimer and piano soundtrack, this introduction to the art of primitive rug making, written and produced by Elizabeth Anchor, uses good close-ups, and offers plenty of finished examples of beautiful rugs. Viewers are shown what supplies are needed, and then given demonstrations of the basic rug hooking technique. Although a fairly simple craft, the filmmakers point out the most common problems made by beginners, and offer tips on patterns and selecting loop size. The program concludes with a bibliography of primitive rug hooking books. A good inexpensive crafts program, and one likely to be popular. Recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
