Given that the average wedding service runs around 20 minutes (and that's with Cousin Tiffany's rendition of “Wind Beneath My Wings”), it's rather mind-boggling that this video on bridal makeup runs over two and a half hours. Two different makeup artists (or “estheticians,” as Susie Galvez prefers to be called) demonstrate their skills on three different models (with a range of skin tones) in this program that is truly scripted for professionals and not just brides looking for some beauty tips for The Big Day. Galvez and R.J. McCasland emphasize proper sanitation (using disposable applicators and/or brush sterilizers, and mixing colors on a palette rather than in the cosmetics themselves) refer to “clients” and “customers,” and include plenty of suggestions related to the business end of being a professional beautician. Both are proponents of a “classic, natural look” that require only foundation, concealer, shading, blush, powder, eye shadow base, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow shaping, lipstick foundation, lipstick, and lipliner all used together. Keeping in mind that this is more of a trade than a consumer-oriented production, this is still recommended for larger collections. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
