Baseball star Ken Griffey Jr., along with coach Rusty Kuntz and trainer Pete Shmock, take a group of kids through the fundamentals of power hitting. Beginning with a series of warm-up exercises, the program segues into a "hitting clinic" session which covers such topics as: bat selection, the power position, bat grip, the power pivot, and hitting a line drive. The instruction is both clear and specific; the exercises chosen precisely for limbering up and strengthening the muscles that come into play while hitting a baseball. The tape concludes with an interview with Griffey about his life: growing up in the shadow of his baseball great father, fear of getting hit with the ball, the importance of staying clean and sober to playing your best ball, etc. Young sluggers will enjoy this program which features both boys and girls in the cast of aspiring hitters. Highly recommended. (Available from most distributors.)
