Over 97% of American high school students have heard homophobic remarks, jokes, or other speech from their peers on a regular basis. In a series of interviews, we hear from a wide variety of gay and lesbian teenagers, who talk about their fight to overcome prejudice and misunderstanding at school and at home. Their "coming out" stories are mostly about initial rejection followed by eventual acceptance, at least by their peers and the program provides insights into the problems these teens face, allowing viewers to see them first as individuals, not as labeled outcasts. Unfortunately, the video suffers from sync problems, which is very distracting because the bulk of the content is interviews; most of the facts, statistics, and practical solutions are found in the accompanying material. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
