Aimed at people who have less-than-perfect antiques around the house (and aren't planning on a trip to the Antiques Roadshow), as well as arts and crafts enthusiasts and model-makers, this very informative video (with its helpful 44-page booklet) is a good hand-holding guide for beginners who would like to reproduce that broken piece of ormolu or that lost propeller using a two-sided silicone mold. Amenable to a wide variety of materials, viewers will learn that once the mold is complete, they can pour in plaster-of-paris, wax, metal, or even chocolate to make the desired piece. In addition to solid coverage of the basics, the video also gives hints on how to rush the curing process (though that will result in a reproduction smaller than the original). Sure to be welcomed by a wide variety of patrons in public libraries, this is recommended. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
