Ready...and...go. Shuffle, thirds, flap, paddle and roll, scuff, dig heel drop, press cramp, kick; I felt like the klutziest kid in the class watching Steve Zee teach this "series of easy-to-follow basic, gradated exercises." He's a likeable guy, and the rhythm tap routines (based on some ideas from old-time hoofers like Eddie Brown and Jimmy Slyde) are stylish and entertaining, but it wasn't until the end of the tape that I realized the target audience wasn't the average Savion Glover wannabe but professional tap teachers. For them, this useful tape, featuring new steps, combos, and tips for remembering is recommended. Novices, on the other hand, should consider a more basic introduction, such as Tap Away Your Blues (VL-3/94). Aud: P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
