Geared toward working students and/or recent high school graduates who are just entering the job market, this excellent program follows the character of Kate, a high school graduate, as she learns the principles of sound money management. First off, Kate learns how to set up a spending plan, taking into account the different types of expenses she has (fixed, flexible, and periodic) and her long and short-term goals. Next, she gets a tour of the bank, and its various services, along with a detailed breakdown of the division of her paycheck (wages, federal taxes, state taxes, etc.) Checking accounts, saving accounts, and credit purchasing are all examined, and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. A fine program, highly recommended for junior and high school libraries, in particular; also useful for public libraries. (See DRINKING...THIS BUZZ IS NOT FOR YOU for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
