Dittoheads across the fruited plain take note: Al Franken was right. Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot. Opening with a sappy patriotic montage that would probably even make Bob Dole wince, this color-by-numbers-level-logic collection of the best (or worst) mini-diatribes culled from The Rush Limbaugh Show can be summed up in a single paraphrase: it's the liberals, stupid. No issue is so big or complex (abortion, welfare, violence, multiculturalism) that it can't be simply laid at the Democrats' doorstep. In keeping with his true spirit, several of Limbaugh's examples are drawn from the African-American or gay and lesbian community (and he will occasionally adopt offensive, stereotypical speech patterns). Still, regardless of how obnoxious the notions put forth here might be to many viewers, Limbaugh's immense popularity makes this a strong optional purchase. A companion volume, Sometimes You Just Gotta Laugh is also available for $19.95. Aud: C, P. (R. Pitman)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
