Like good Boy and Girl Scouts, students planning to study overseas need to Be Prepared. In addition to knowing the language of the host country and something of the social, historical and cultural background, students need to be aware of their unique status as foreign nationals--meaning, being ready for possible health emergencies, guarding personal safety, knowing local laws regarding alcohol and drugs, and staying informed as to the possibility of terrorism. This colorful video presents these important facets of international travel along with video snippets from around the world. While the cautionary details are a necessity, the alluring vistas of other lands will likely keep the fainthearted from chickening out. Too, while much of this information can be found in travel books and guidebooks at a fraction of the cost, the video format might be useful for schools hosting a "parents' night" concerning overseas study. Recommended where applicable and affordable. Aud: H, C, P. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
