As I am writing this review, I have both hands bandaged from having a small accident with my new Razor. No, not a shaving mishap--a mishap with my scooter. Or should I say my son's scooter, which I borrowed while the car was in the shop. My son, the self proclaimed "best scooter rider on the block," grudgingly admits that I am the "best at not whining when I fall" (except in video review magazines which he doesn't read). Easy to learn, fast and exciting, scooters are all the new rage, and this video aims to exploit this fad with very few instructional tips and very many slo-mo action jumps set to blazing rock and roll music. While I was slightly distracted by the video's tendency to veer into long montages of skateboarding, in line skating and water skiing, and to only show boys as participants, I knew it was appealing to its target audience when my son suddenly turned to me and said "this is like a documentary of my life! You've got to give it 4 stars." To which I replied, "but on solid ground, I'm a whiner." So, 3 stars. It might "grind" on some nerves, but hits the mark with those too young to shave. Recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
