An introduction to scrapbooking, this video covers the basic elements of the hobby--tools and supplies; taking, organizing, and cropping photos; layout; matting; decorating pages; journaling--well enough that even I, the most stupefyingly uncreative and uncoordinated “hobbyist” on the face of the planet, could probably cobble together a fairly decent scrapbook page. In fact, the sample page constructed in the program is truly barebones, smartly avoiding fancy and difficult techniques that would serve only to overwhelm the beginner. Having said that, the tape does not address several elemental issues, such as how to measure and mark for cropping photos (the person demonstrating seemed to be cutting freehand, without having marked the photo first); how to prevent glue from squishing out from the edges of the photo onto the page; and, most vexing, what that piece of cloth was that the instructor rubbed over the photos. Still, this is recommended with reservations. Aud: P. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
