Sculpture Classroom II: Sculpting the Figure in Clay

Arlene Siegel, whose Sculpture Classroom I tape (VL-7/91) features information on how to sculpt the head of a boy, focuses here on creating a seated female nude. Using a variety of fairly common tools (including a part stolen from her child's building set), Siegel makes it look easy to take chunks of clay and create a human figure. Betcha it isn't, but that shouldn't take the fun out of a novice's first try. Most of the tape is independent of the previous title; however, when it comes to discussing the details of creating the head of the female figure, Siegel frequently refers to the first tape, so libraries should be prepared to buy both.
