For years, I've been asking myself several important questions: "Have I somehow mislaid the missing hair on top of my head?", "Why is wine (which tastes sucky) good for your heart, while beer (which tastes great, especially during the 4th quarter) contains carcinogens?" and "When is somebody going to finally wizen up and make a video which combines skiing and tai chi?" I'm still struggling with the first two questions, but as for the third--yes, Virginia there is a ski tai chi tape. And since I'm equally ungifted in both areas, this will be a strictly unbiased review. Mike Wright, former F-16 fighter pilot, tai chi instructor, and--given the title of this video--visionary, takes a class of skiers through a series of tai chi exercises which will add flexibility to the connective tissue (fascia, tendons, and ligaments to be precise). The cat stretch, cradle stretch, two dragons and a number of other stretches and moves are performed by Wright and his students, with each move followed by ski footage demonstrating its practical effectiveness (if hurtling down a tree-dotted slope while simultaneously breaking the sound barrier can be called "practical," for Jean-Claude Killy's sake). Sure to be popular with snow bums and bunnies alike, this is recommended. Aud: P. (R. Pitman)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
