Part of The Spirit of America series, this short homage to physical activity "breathes life into televised sports, showing regular folks doing what they love: skiing, ice and fly fishing, bull riding, women's college basketball, and small-town, 8-man football." Participants are interviewed, players are filmed, and--yes--poetry is read. Though this video is professionally done, I truly cannot imagine anyone in any library anywhere asking for material with this particular angle. An hour-long video which explains how to fly fish might be needed in some collections, but a half-hour video that contains a 5-minute section showing a woman fly fishing while telling us why she likes it, for 100 bucks no less? Not a necessary purchase. Aud: J, H, P. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
