Even though Starting Fresh host “Trey” served time in prison, he later managed to land a good job that utilizes his skills. In this well-organized, practical first program in the three-part series, viewers learn the nitty-gritty of a job search—from self-assessment to interviewing—with an emphasis on preparation and acknowledgement that a job search is hard work. Finding a Job with a Troubled Background explores many avenues of job searching—from traditional classified ads to non-traditional informational interviews—offering plenty of tips and suggestions for further resources. Although this program is specifically geared for ex-offenders and others with less-than-sterling personal histories, it could also be useful to those looking for entry-level jobs or positions that don't require a college degree. Other titles in the Starting Fresh series include: Job Interviewing With a Troubled Background and Resumes and Cover Letters With a Troubled Background. Highly recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (E. Gieschen)
