The video population of parenting tapes has reached critical mass, and we no longer need any more cutesy productions such as this one, in which the "baby" narrates for all us clueless parent types. Yes, there was some informational value to this video: facts about sleep, feeding, crying, states of alertness, playtime, bathing and doctor visits were presented, but nothing in great detail much beyond the pamphlets you might get upon release from the hospital. There were also some questionable items: an older sibling shown helping with a diaper change sprinkles a heavy dose of powder directly onto the bottom of the baby (usually NOT recommended), and there's an odd comment about there being no difference between breast and bottle milk for the newborn. Not recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
