In this unusually artsy production dealing with domestic abuse, three women tell parts of their stories, a therapist provides statistics and background, and a counselor gives a profile of an abuser. No people or text appear onscreen; instead, the graphics consists entirely of contí-crayon animation, around which the participants' voices are woven. Though the information presented is solid enough, this production is both too short and rather odd to be a necessary purchase, especially considering that there is no "for further information..." provided. Although comprehensive collections might want to consider, more practical choices here would be Domestic Violence: Faces of Fear (VL-3/97) and Domestic Violence: Breaking the Cycle (VL-3/97). Aud: H, C, P. (K. Glaser)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
