Hosted by tennis ace Bjorn Borg, Sweden: A Scandinavian Surprise is a heavily sponsored guide to the 4th largest country in Europe. Made by the same company that produced Europe By Train, etc. (reviewed above), this tape touches on the history of Sweden; travels to the major cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmo; visits a glass factory; and covers major shopping centers (while outlining the benefits of the Visitor's Card). Since Hertz (the car rental agency), a large department store chain, and other sponsors are featured in the program, some sights are obviously more prevalent for the viewing would-be traveler than others. If you're looking for an inexpensive video on Sweden, this will certainly fit the bill--but for twice the price you can do much better. An optional purchase. (See EUROPE BY TRAIN for availability.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
