Popular swimming film legend Esther Williams is the host of this one-hour program about making your baby water-safe. In graded steps she demonstrates how to teach babies in the bathtub, portable pool, and, finally, outdoor pool. Intercut throughout the program are snippets of home movies showing Ms. Williams and her children. Although this tape does not really teach babies to swim, per se, is does make a good case for making babies familiar with water. One image, in particular, is memorable: Emily, a 13-month old, is able to jump into a large pool, and quickly move into a safe floating position. With drowning being one of the leading causes of accidental death, it's comforting to know that children can be taught water safety at a very early age. Recommended.

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
