What makes a great basketball shot? Coach and former Minnesota high school star Tom Norland says it's a combination of moves any player can learn that will enable him or her to score nothin' but net more often than not. In this follow-up to Swish (reviewed in VL-1/05), Norland further refines his approach, providing step-by-step instruction for players, as well as tips for coaches and parents teaching hoop skills. From gripping the ball, to the support role of the other hand, to the importance of body alignment and an open stance (offering the best advantage for consistent shooting), Norland outlines these and other key components of the titular method, such as using the upward motion of the body (with power coming from the legs) and mastering the perfect release (using an upward pushing motion instead of a flip of the wrist). Instructive and inspirational (viewers will see players of all ages consistently making perfect shots!), this is highly recommended. Aud: I, J, H, P. (C. Block)
