Sharing loads of useful hints for “turning snapshots into little works of art,” vivacious professional photographer Tamara Lackey (whose work has appeared in Vogue, O Magazine, and Martha Stewart Living, among other publications) guides the viewer through the essentials of taking better photos, even with a simple point-and-shoot digital camera. Translating technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms, Lackey emphasizes the importance of interaction (among the subjects of the photo, or the subjects with the photographer), while also discussing topics such as composition, lighting, and backgrounds, as well as covering equipment and accessories. Viewers will learn how to quickly assess a setting and then consider angles, available light, and other elements, making adjustments as necessary to create a picture that won't disappoint. Even skilled amateurs will likely pick up new tips, and everyone may be inspired to follow Lackey's guiding principal: read the manual that comes with the camera. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (F. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
