Here we have ye olde Catch-22 of brief "basic" training tapes: If your entire conception of "teams" doesn't extend much beyond organized sports, then you're not going to learn enough in this 15-minute program to effectively create and manage a smoothly running team for an important library project; if, on the other hand, you've seen a business tape or two covering the subject, then Teamwork Basics will tell you nothing that you don't already know. Sketchily defining a team, outlining its components, and looking at a team in action, this program combines very general information on teams (types: project-oriented vs. ongoing; key people: facilitator, timekeeper and recorder; objective: to meet clearly stated goals) together with a few stilted skits and interviews with librarians. Almost none of the content is specific to libraries, meaning that you'd probably be better off with a more in-depth video or series made for commercial business use, such as Conquering Team Conflict (VL-1/98). Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
