Winner of several national championship titles, host Teresa Mason narrates this instructional guide to ballroom dancing while dancers Kyle and Heather Turley demonstrate the foxtrot, waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, and quickstep. Each dance is shown at three skill levels, and each segment begins with Kyle illustrating the lead part solo, after which the couple perform first without and then with music, and finally in formal attire. For this viewer with two left feet, things quickly moved from confusing to overwhelming. Unfortunately, no solo female footwork is shown (are the ladies just supposed to hold on for dear life and hope for the best?). But the Turleys are highly skilled, fabulous performers, and anyone who has mastered the box step will be able to pick up numerous tricks from them to add to their own repertoire. DVD extras include five full-length practice songs. Also newly available are Teresa Mason's The Magic of Latin Dancing and Teresa Mason's The Magic of Romance Dancing. Recommended, overall. Aud: P.
