Designed to teach masseuses and spa professionals, Thai Acupressure Massage is presented by Dr. Anthony James, who briefly explains the concepts behind Thai massage and reflexology; covers attendant benefits; explains sen lines, chakras, and marma points; and discusses integrating Thai acupressure with existing services and marketing it to customers. James then offers a step-by-step demonstration of specific techniques on a female clothed in a bikini top and shorts, showing viewers how to locate and apply pressure to each point. James also discusses practitioner posture/focus, remaining aware of a client's comfort level, and accommodations for working on a massage table rather than the traditional mat. The setting looks like a low-end office—the lighting is somewhat dark—and James is not exactly a dynamic onscreen presence. However, his instruction is thoughtful, thorough, and should satisfy the intended audience. Because this is aimed at professionals, it is recommended only for libraries with large career or trade-specific collections. Aud: P. (M. Puffer-Rothenberg)
