Over 4 million births are expected every year in North America; of these, one quarter will result in a miscarriage, still-birth, or infant death. Prenatal care is now recognized as a low cost way of reducing the incidence of these tragedies and getting both mother and child off to a healthy start. This book-and-video set touches upon over two dozen separate topics from fetal development to newborn motor skills. Each topic is introduced by a set of amiable hosts, with additional information presented by fathers, mothers and other experts. The information was excellent and addressed many questions about pregnancy and birth that I haven't seen covered elsewhere. This reasonably priced, comprehensive package covering pregnancy and birth is highly recommended. Editor's Choice. Other sets available in The Baby System series include: Planning Your Pregnancy and The First Year. Aud: P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
