A bare bones production designed as a companion to the book Equine Massage/Muscle Therapy by nationally certified sports massage therapist Mike Stott, this program features Stott demonstrating how to massage a horse appropriately by showing basic anatomy, stretching exercises, muscle construction, movement evaluation, general massage techniques, and pre- and post-event massage. As a stand-alone piece, the video assumes an equine-knowledgeable audience (the average viewer is going to be lost in the first few minutes of horse anatomy). Although the production quality lacks the luster of professional work, this title does contain good information presented by a knowledgeable therapist that will be very helpful for professionals, such as a groom, jockey, breeder, or veterinarian, who wishes to expand his/her knowledge in the area of horse massage. As a specialized title for a specialized audience, this is recommended for purchase primarily for libraries with larger equine collections. Aud: C, P. (L. Stevens)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
