Someone once said that if you dress a pig in a suit, it's still a pig. Let's carry this over to what has to be one of the dullest subjects ever devised by the mind of man: accounting. This video dresses up accounting in a lot of silly skits, but it's still accounting. There is no avoiding the discussion of "owner's equity," "balance sheets," "t-accounts," or other riveting topics that soon cause the eyes to glaze and the brain to go numb. Still, someone wanting to brush up on their accounting skills could get some value out of this video (though I seriously doubt anyone could watch all 115 minutes in one sitting). The acting in the skits is beyond bad...it's excruciating, and the information is presented in a jumbled, chaotic manner. A second volume is available in the 2-part series, which is part of a much larger 36 video series called The Standard Deviants Video Review Course, which includes teaser titles such as The Super Charged World of Chemistry, The Salsa-riffic World of Spanish, The Creepy, Crawly World of Calculus, and so on. Maybe I'll sit up and take notice when they come out with The Whoopee Cushion World of Library Science. Optional. Aud: H, P. (J. Carlson)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
