Excellent production values inform this four-part video on reducing cholesterol levels for a healthier heart. The first segment, "Eating to Live, Living to Eat" offers seven basic steps for making better food choices; "Good and Healthy," the second segment, dispels common myths about cholesterol; the third segment, "How to Be a Low-Fat Eater in a High-Fat World," examines options at fast food places and restaurants; and the final segment, "Tomorrow's Kitchen," addresses shopping, modifying recipes, and low-fat cooking techniques. The information here is fairly general, making the price a bit high (similar, more current fare, is available at a lower price). Too, there are long intervals between the different segments--which should be noted on the box. Still, libraries looking for extra material in this area may want to consider this. Recommended. [Note: the program is also available on four separate videotapes for $150.] (Available from: Hall-Foushee Productions, Inc., 1313 5th Street SE, Suite 214B, Minneapolis, MN 55414.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
