According to this program's introduction: "In the 1980s, the Internet became popular with the general public when the World Wide Web intro--" Excuse me? Either I Rip Van Winkled an entire decade or the Internet took off in the 1990s. Hosted by Sarah Malin, the video offers impressively detailed instruction on using a web browser, bookmarks, search engines, and e-mail...with a significant catch: all of the instruction is for Netscape Navigator (and since the program was shot in August 1996, it's an older version to boot). Trust me, no one should pay ninety bucks for a year-plus old general introduction to the Internet which turns out be specific instruction for a particular software product. The Video Guide to the Internet, 2nd Edition (VL-9/96) is probably due for an update soon and is still a much better choice at $14.95. Not recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (R. Pitman)
