Do your cake decorating books circulate well? Does the pope wear a funny hat? Patrons are going to love this one. Patti Hudson, a.k.a. the Gingerbread Lady, is the host and guide of this delicious introduction to the art of making gingerbread houses. Divided into two parts, part one focuses on the "cookie cottage", a smaller house made of graham crackers, mortared by icing, and decorated with a wide array of imaginative (and yummy) sweets. Part two shows viewers how to make a larger gingerbread house with gingerbread dough, as well as a chimney, furniture, lawn decorations, etc. Ms. Hudson is an amiable and informative guide who clearly loves her art, and conveys that to viewers. The tape closes with some footage of children, who have been taught by Ms. Hudson, constructing their own gingerbread houses. A 15-page "Gingerbread Video Cookbook" is enclosed. Highly recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
