With "Dummies", "Idiots", and now "Klutz" guides readily available, can "Moron's", "Boneheads", and "Doody Brain's" be far behind? Actually, this is a reasonably useful video for self-proclaimed klutzes who openly admit that they don't know a X#%!& thing about fixing a leaking toilet, finding a faulty fuse box, filling in a crack in the driveway, or any of the other myriad problems that plague homeowners. Host Jack Kleinman takes viewers on a tour of the typical house and demonstrates how to perform simple repairs. What bothers me is that after almost every explanation, Jack says something like "...and if this doesn't work, call a repairman immediately." That's kind of scary to us klutzes, especially since Jack is the type of person who could bring a Nobel Prize winner to his knees by discussing such esoteric topics as 'fluted nuts' and the dangers of turning valves counter-clockwise instead of clockwise. Still, given the dearth of similar material and the winning price, this is tough to pass up, and even though the guidebook mentioned by Jack wasn't included in the package I was sent, I feel certain it explains things in a "See Spot Run" format for people like me. Watch out, toilet...here I come! Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)
