Attention! This exercise tape takes no prisoners! Be forewarned that if you are an average, flabby American, this tape is NOT for you. Instructor Tracey Mallett leads three separate workout segments, which can be done individually or (if you're Superperson) combined together. Segment one begins with what's called a "warm-up," although it is too short and fast moving to qualify as such, and quickly moves into a very high impact routine with lots of jumping and lunging (without a pause for a pulse check or any alternative moves for different levels of fitness). Segment two drops down to a very low impact Tai Chi routine with weights, in which Mallett counsels viewers to concentrate on technique, but fails to explain any positions or stances. The final segment moves back up to super high impact, without--unfortunately--a decent cool down at the end to catch one's breath and stretch muscles. Not only is the choreography ridiculously stressful on bones and joints, but the instructor's "teammates" behind her can't follow the routine--so, how are we supposed to get it at home? Not recommended. Aud: P. (E. Druda)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
