Dinky instructor Tracey Mallett yells harsh encouragement to her workout buddies ("you're going to kill them!" and "protect that pretty face!") in a petite British accent, while alternating between ballet dancing and a mean cross-punch/side kick combo--all set to a live percussion band playing drums (rather loudly) in the background. Although many entries in The Method series have been excellent, intelligent exercise programs, this particular offering is unusually miscast and poorly executed. The tape includes three different "intensity" workouts, seemingly progressively tougher, with the third set bringing out the only two male workout buddies in camouflage fatigues. Hmmm. The promotional material boasts of "a totally new twist on the kickboxing phenomenon," but I'd say what we have here is a new phenomenon that's totally twisted. Not recommended. Aud: P. (N. Plympton)
