If you ignore the occasionally ridiculous statistics trotted out in this program (our "listening efficiency" is only 25%--according to a recent study conducted in 1957; actual words only account for 7% of the meaning in verbal communication; etc.), writer/host Susan Morem's guide to professionalism is a basically sound rehash of simple business etiquette, dress, and grooming. Using the acronym "IMAGE," Morem and actors offer suggestions and demonstrate the importance of making a good first impression, conducting oneself well physically (handshakes, etc.), maintaining a good attitude, proper grooming, and being aware of business etiquette in different situations (on the phone, dining with associates/clients, making conversation, etc.). While there's nothing here that any seminar-overloaded management level employee hasn't heard umpty-ump times, The Power of Professionalism is very nicely produced, and--with the exception of some pointless statistics--well arranged. As you're already aware, business common sense carries a high price tag on video these days, so this entry is more reasonably priced than most. An optional purchase. (Note: the workbook/guidebook included with the program was not seen.) (Available from: Premier Presentations, Inc., 8800 Highway Seven, Suite 315, Minneapolis, MN 55426; (612) 935-3446.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
