Dr. Mark Walton is the host for this new method for treating lower back pain, which flaunts conventional theories about lower back pain, targeting the "psoas muscles" (located in the iliac region) as the primary cause of many lower back pain problems. Walton contends that many of the traditional methods for treating this condition only serves to aggravate the problems because of misunderstandings about the causes of lower back pain. Testimonials from Walton's patients are coupled with a list of "do's and don'ts." The main portion of the program is devoted to a set of exercises, performed here by patients, rather than models, which involve various stretches not found in similar programs--and strongly recommend that patients refrain from sit-up, toe touch, and certain bending exercises which Walton maintains adds stress to the psoas muscles. As with all exercise tapes, the customary disclaimers, and recommendations to check with one's physician are included here. Although non-traditional, Walton's advice and suggestions sound reasonable, and may well be the answer for some people who suffer from bouts of lower back pain. Recommended.
