Watching this instructional DVD on how to dance the salsa, I had to wonder if the process of becoming a Supreme Court Justice would not be easier—at least Justice Roberts didn't have to know an “enchufla doble” from a “Kentucky.” Of course, the two young instructors—Gigi and Pedro—do their very best to keep things simple here, breaking down the dance into its component parts, but this is only the Beginners title and my head is still swimming from the intricate twists and turns. However, those who are fleet of foot will find much to appreciate in this how-to, which allows viewers to watch the programs from three different angles. The action takes place on a rather austere stage, but that doesn't distract from the “quick and dirty” yet also thorough instruction. [Note: the follow-up title, The Quick & Dirty Guide to Salsa: Part Two—Intermediate, is also available.] Recommended. Aud: P. (J. Carlson)
