Longer ago than I care to admit, my parents helped me apply for my first credit card, with solid instructions in how (and how not) to use it. Unfortunately, many young adults don't receive this kind of guidance, and they are the target audience for this practical, eye-opening primer on one of America's biggest obsessions: credit. Two young hosts, and several adult financial experts, help viewers understand the finer points of spending money that they really don't have, emphasizing that while credit itself is not bad, not taking it seriously can lead to long-term woe. While basic terms are defined, sensible guidelines are suggested, and solutions for debt management are discussed, the program would have benefited from more specific explanations and examples, especially when tackling topics such as APR or credit card disclosure forms. However, the accompanying curriculum expands on these areas, providing tips and worksheets that reinforce the suggestions in the video. Recommended.
