Some parents want their infants to sleep with them in the same room, but for adults who prefer to keep their own bedroom to themselves, the task of getting a baby or toddler to sleep in a separate room can be an ordeal. Geared for parents of children ages four months to three years, this instructional program emphasizes that it is important for both baby and parents to get good “sleep nutrition.” Hosted by Jennifer Waldburger and Jill Spivack (family therapists and authors of The Sleepeasy Solution), this program—taking into account both breastfed and bottle-fed babies—is organized by chapters into topics ranging from the “6 Sleep Stealers” to the “Sleepeasy Solution” itself, which offers common-sense tips on the benefits of a predictable and peaceful routine to end the day, a dark and quiet environment, and a proper sleep schedule. While the producers could have skipped the sentimental parent-and-child music video (sleep-deprived parent-zombies need the info straight-up and fast!), The Sleepeasy Solution—featuring multicultural families struggling with sleep issues—will prove to be a real boon to many parents. Highly recommended. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
