The opening volume in a projected multi-tape series designed to help vacationers and business travelers journeying to new lands, The Traveler's Tutor: Latin American Spanish is a low budget voice-over guide (with captioned onscreen sentences) to pronunciation, asking questions, greetings, numbers, common expressions, telling time, days of the week, saying "no," and dialogue for specific situations (restaurant, currency exchange, religious services, transportation, etc.). While it accomplishes its goal of providing a working conversation for those traveling to Spanish-speaking countries, there are already a number of excellent guides on the market in this area (Joy of Talking Spanish and Berlitz Spanish, among others.) Not a necessary purchase. (Available from: Dogwood Productions, 1113 Woodbern Way, Tallahassee, FL 32304; (904) 576-0839.)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
