In the otherwise shining Xenejenex oeuvre, this rather clichéd approach to problems that working mothers face is a bit of a disappointment. Lilibet Stern, a.k.a. the former Patti Williams on The Young and the Restless, is the featured star who shares some of her thoughts on juggling family and business life, and also conducts a daily aerobic workout session at the end of the program. The video is divided into several chapters covering topics such as "getting organized," "quality time with your children," "you and your mate," you and your employer," etc. The problem with the video is that rather than provide solid tips and practical solutions to the myriad of pressures working women face (as did, for instance, Working Moms: Survival, Success, and Satisfaction reviewed in our February 1987 issue), most of the "advice" given falls under the category of "pep talk." Libraries without similar fare may want to consider this program, if for no other reason than because of the high interest and concomitant low number of videos on the topic. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
