Environmental accountability is a topic that becomes more urgent with time--another species pushed to extinction, another habitat destroyed by commerce or human population. Biodiversity, a term which communicates the web-like connectedness of all living species, is threatened as the numbers and health of plants and animals shrink worldwide. Human responsibility for the destruction and maintenance of the environment is clearly communicated through six case studies that are 2-3 minutes in length. The importance and plight of a particular species of animal, bird, or plant is examined, and solutions presented to aid in their survival. Due to the shortness of each segment, they are not very in-depth, but could prove to be good starting points for students to do their own research, which the accompanying guide does indirectly suggest. A solid introduction or supplement to a unit on environmental conservation. Recommended. Aud: J, H. (E. Gieschen)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
