Time to Dance is an introduction to dance aimed at girls 12 and under. I say "girls" because, unfortunately, no boys appear in this instructional video that also doubles as an exercise tape. Instructor Alison Crosby teaches the basic dance steps, including jazz, ballet, and modern dance movements to a class of about a dozen young female dancers of all ages and abilities. The dance steps are then incorporated into a two minute dance routine. This high-energy title is visually appealing, with colorful and creative sets and costumes, and upbeat music (that is enjoyable, though not always synchronized with the dance movements). Best of all, this program offers a great way for a young child to try dancing at home without an audience before entering a studio environment. Recommended. Aud: P. (L. Stevens)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
