As Joe Dante's gremlins were wont to say: "Yum!" Tommy Tang is a premier Thai chef with a winning hand at making delectable dishes and an equally good sense of humor. Joined by celebrities Melanie Chartoff, Bill Macy, Marques Johnson, Joey Pantoliano, and Malcolm Danare, Tang concocts such tasty treats as Santa Barbara Shrimp Panang, Volcanic Mussels, Mee Krob, and Tiger's Eye. Unlike most cooking videos, however, not every second is spent in the kitchen. The mussels are prepared at the beach, and a spicy mint chicken is made during a backpacking trip with his wife, Sandi. Tommy Tang's Food Adventure is a very high class production that is both informative and entertaining. (Tommy makes no bones about the taste of his Thai dishes: "It's to die for.") And unlike the subjects of pasta, sushi, and cajun cooking, Thai cooking videos are not exactly a plentiful item. Highly recommended. (Available from most distributors.)

As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
