Joe D. Batten, author of Tough-Minded Management and Tough-Minded Leadership, is the inspirational speaker in this program which combines interview segments with excerpts from Batten's seminars. Defining the tough-minded leader as one who leads rather than manages, Batten discusses the importance of team-playing, good communication, and a general love of life. While the ideas are not particularly earth-shattering, Batten's presentation is both amiable and informed. The catchwords and platitudes which plague similar material here give way to solid example and reasonably erudite explanations. With many business-oriented videos still hovering in the monthly-paycheck range, this is a good, inexpensive choice for public library business video collections. Recommended. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
