Creepy music, staged re-enactments of crimes, an actress giving a victim's account of a roadside attack...this video is meant to scare women into thinking about their safety on the road. Although much of the information presented here isn't new (what to do if your car's being tailed on a dark country highway, what to do if a friendly-looking stranger offers help, etc.), the visual examples are memorable. And while some of the advice may seem a little paranoid, like having a bellhop inspect your room for someone hiding behind the curtains or under the bed, the fact remains that the hotel is responsible for making rooms safe. Savvy professional women are already aware of much of this information, but this tape would still be a good review, as well as a fine primer for young women who are just learning about getting around in the real world. Top-notch production values along with important information make this a strong choice; unfortunately, the price will put it out of many libraries' financial reach. Aud: H, C, P. (R. Reagan)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
