Think a video on unemployment might not be relevant in today's hot job market? Think again. After watching this program, I turned on the evening news to the announcement that a local, large firm had just laid off several hundred employees due to a merger. As the title indicates, this video outlines the stages of grief (bargaining, anger, and sadness) caused by losing a job and offers practical guidelines for getting back on track. In addition, it also emphasizes the necessity of speaking to someone (family, friends, church, etc.) about those emotions so they don't lead to depression, and offers a straightforward program for re-gaining employment--assessing strengths, networking, training, retraining, and finding necessary support. A fine resource that is only hampered by the dirge-like soundtrack (boy, is it depressing!). Recommended. Aud: P. (S. Fisher)
