A well-crafted and straightforward instructional video, Water Babies shows parents and other family members how to teach swimming to infants and children in a seven-lesson course that emphasizes safety first...and fun always. Honed from techniques started in the 1950s by Gretchen Mack (now an octogenarian), and continued by her daughter in the Water Babies Swim School, the lessons here--including kicking, dipping, letting go, turning over and floating--have been shaped into an efficient and effective "curriculum" that respects children and their natural ability to learn. Highly recommended, especially for those looking for a replacement for the older Swim Baby Swim (VL-7/87). Aud: P. (S. Fisher)

Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
